Meet Our Heros!

Meet Our Heroes!

To truly transform children’s lives, we support the women raising them-mothers, grandmothers, and aunties—who often struggle just to feed their families. They dream of a better future for their children and are determined to make it happen.

Meet three courageous women:

Beatrice didn’t finish school, but her determination to see her children succeed is unstoppable. As a single mother, she received support from Kisumu Children Trust to help her start a micro business to feed and educate her children. The road hasn’t been easy, but she never gave up. Today, one of her children is at university!

Elizabeth is a devoted and hardworking mother of three school-going children. She runs a small firewood business that helps her meet daily needs and care for her family. She says, “Stay faithful to your business. It can grow. It can change your life. ”Some days, she earns just KSh 200 (about £1.15), and on better days up to KSh 1,000 (around £5.86). One of Elizabeth’s children is now supported through Kisumu Children’s sponsorship programme.

“Even with little, you can always get something. Save more, eat less, and grow your dream,” – says . Starting with limited capital and a stall

under a temporary mat roof, Pamela began selling vegetables, cereals, and fried snacks from her home. Through perseverance, she’s made progress, using her extra income to buy two chickens—an important step towards her goal of becoming a poultry farmer. She hopes to build a chicken coop to expand her business.

Our courageous caregivers, together with the chicken coop to expand her business.

Our courageous caregivers, together with the dedicated staff at CBCH, meet weekly to support one another and participate in microbusiness activities.

Despite facing financial hardship, they are committed to saving money. Their efforts have recently been recognised with a Government Certificate of Registration for their Caregivers Group. This important milestone allows them to open a bank account, run a savings scheme, and qualify for subsidised rates on seeds and fertilisers.

Two more groups also hope to register soon.

We are a UK based charity working in the Kisumu area of Kenya.
