Samson’s news

We’re really pleased to be able to pass on some news of one of our young people who grew up with us at CBCH.

A very dedicated scholar, Samson attended Tieng’re Primary School during his early years at CBCH. He did really well in his KCPE exams such that he was accepted into Chulaimbo Boys Secondary school where, in November last year, he passed his KCSE exams at a C+ grade. This qualified him to join University for a Bachelor Degree course.

So, with the help of our staff at CBCH he has been able to apply to Kenyatta University, Nairobi University and Pwani & Maseno University for a BA in Education and Education for special needs. The course will run over a period of four years and is likely to start in September 2023 running until 2027. We feel confident that he will be accepted for a place and so we are just waiting to hear back from the Universities and are praying for a good offer. What a wonderful path to want to take in life and what a lot of needy children he will be able to support when qualified! Please join with us and pray for a great offer to come for Samson. We will update you via our Facebook page when we hear.

Samson’s early life
Samson was born in 2002 in Kadol village, Kisumu County. His father died in 2001 just five months before he was born so, sadly, they never met. His mother, Eunice, struggled on by herself but the family fell further and further into desperate poverty. As a result, Samson came to us at the age of 11 where he was sponsored by a supporter and was able to join Tieng’re Primary School. It quickly became apparent that he enjoyed learning and was committed to working hard to achieve. Eunice eventually became a house help in Bondo town where she still works to help provide basic needs for her family. She often visits CBCH at the weekend.

Samson is a jovial, polite and very disciplined young man with a love of people. He loves God and is not afraid of hard work to study and achieve the best that he can. We believe he will continue to go far just from his dedication and attitude alone! Well done Samson, God bless you and keep you and bring you His peace.
